This policy explains how U14U (“we”, “us”), based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, handles your personal data when you visit u14u.com or buy from us. We ship within India only, and we follow Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

1. What we collect

• Details you give us: name, phone number, email, shipping and billing address, and messages you send through our contact form.
• Order details: what you bought, order value, and payment method (prepaid or Cash on Delivery).
• Payment: payments are processed securely by our payment partners. We never see or store your full card, UPI or bank details.
• Browsing data: device, browser, IP address and the pages you view, collected through cookies and similar tools.

2. Why we use it

• To process, ship and deliver your orders, including Cash on Delivery.
• To send order and shipping updates, and to reply when you contact us.
• To handle damaged or wrong items and cancellations.
• To send drop announcements and offers by email or SMS — only if you sign up. You can unsubscribe anytime using the link in the message.
• To understand how the site is used, improve it, and prevent fraud.
• To meet our legal, tax and accounting duties.

3. Who we share it with

We never sell your personal data. We only share what’s needed with:

• Shopify, which runs our online store. Shopify may store data on servers outside India, with safeguards in place.
• Payment partners, to process your payment.
• Courier partners, to deliver your order.
• Meta (Facebook & Instagram), through the Meta Pixel, to measure our ads and show U14U ads to people who may like them.
• Government or law enforcement, only when Indian law requires it.

4. Cookies & ads

We use cookies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, understand site traffic (Shopify analytics) and measure our ads (Meta Pixel). You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the site, like the cart, may not work properly without them.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your data only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as Indian law requires (for example, order and tax records). After that, we delete or anonymise it.

6. How we protect it

Your data is stored on Shopify’s secure platform, and the site uses encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Only people who need your data to run U14U can access it.

7. Your rights

Under Indian law, you can:

• Ask what personal data we hold about you and how we use it.
• Ask us to correct, update or complete your data.
• Ask us to delete your data, unless we must keep it by law.
• Withdraw your consent, including for marketing messages.
• Raise a grievance with us, and if it isn’t resolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.
• Nominate someone to exercise these rights for you if you’re unable to.

8. Children

Our store is meant for adults. If you’re under 18, please shop with a parent or guardian’s consent.

9. Grievance Officer

For any privacy question or complaint, reach our Grievance Officer through the contact page with the subject “Privacy”. We’ll acknowledge your request and work to resolve it as quickly as possible, within the time limits set by Indian law.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
